Mingle at Sea Morning Check-In: Maude Interviews Four First-Time Cabinmates

Published in the Mingle at Sea Insider Newsletter

The Elysian Serenade is well into its voyage, and while most guests are still easing into their trip, some have already made quite the impression. This morning, Mingle at Sea host Maude Nereida sat down with four guests—Aidan Murphy, Harper Brooks, Paige Turner, and Brody Lawson—who were paired as roommates for this Single Sailor Voyage.

Two of them booked the cruise at the last minute, looking for an escape. Two are seasoned pros, returning for another round of fun at sea. Two spent last night observing. Two… did not.

One thing is clear—this group won’t be blending into the background.

Maude: "Good morning, everyone! How’s your first full day on the Elysian Serenade treating you?"

Aidan: "So far, so good. It’s still quiet."

Harper: "My cabin, however, is significantly more sparkly than it was yesterday."

Paige: "You’re welcome."

Brody: "I’m feeling fantastic, thanks for asking. The drinks are cold, the company is lovely, and the adventure is just getting started."

Aidan: "Bold statement for someone who barely made it to breakfast."

Brody: "Hey, I made it. Technically."

Paige: "He walked in like he just completed an Olympic event."

Harper: "Not sure what sport involves disappearing into the night and reappearing three minutes before the buffet closes, but sure."

Brody: "It’s a skill."

Aidan: "It’s a hangover."

Maude: "You were all matched as roommates through Mingle at Sea’s pairing system. How’s that working out so far?"

Harper: "I’m still adjusting."

Paige: "Translation: She adores me."

Aidan: "Mine stuck around for a couple of hours, then ditched me for the crowd."

Brody: "Not ditched—mingled."

Aidan: "Right."

Harper: "To be fair, Paige also disappeared on me."

Paige: "Not disappeared—thrived."

Maude: "So not a lot of roommate bonding yet?"

Aidan: "I learned Brody owns more Hawaiian shirts than a reasonable person should."

Brody: "And I learned Aidan owns zero, which is honestly tragic."

Harper: "That… actually explains a lot."

Brody: "See? We’re an open book."

Paige: "More like an unfiltered one. But don’t worry, Maude, I’m excited for the challenge of taming this wild bronco before the week is up."

Brody: "Oh, sweetheart, plenty have tried."

Paige: "And yet, here you are. Still in need of a firm hand."

Aidan: "Are we still talking about the roommate situation?"

Maude: "Let’s talk about what brought you all here. Why did you book this Single Sailor Voyage?"

Aidan: "Needed a break. My mom and siblings pushed me to take one, and my dad didn’t fight it, which is rare. St. Patrick’s Day rush ended, I found this cruise, and here I am."

Harper: "Pretty similar for me. Work put me on a sabbatical, so I figured I’d take the time to reset before going back."

Paige: "And I booked this trip because I love these voyages. New people, new places, no stress? Sign me up every time."

Brody: "Same. I work hard, but I make sure I play harder. And a ship full of beautiful, single women looking for adventure? Feels like the right place to be."

Aidan: "Do you ever turn it off?"

Brody: "Not when there’s an audience, no."

Paige: "This one’s going to be so fun to break."

Maude: "Alright, lightning round. Describe your roommate in three words or less."

Aidan: "Loud. Relentless. Shirt collection."

Brody: "Shirt collection? That’s your defining trait for me?"

Aidan: "I’m just reporting the facts."

Brody: "Fine. Brooding. Responsible. Needs fun."

Aidan: "That was four words."

Brody: "You needed the extra help."

Harper: "Glitter. Energy. Chaos."

Paige: "Chaos?"

Harper: "Did you see our cabin this morning?"

Paige: "Fine. Elegant. Overthinker. Work-in-progress."

Harper: "Overthinker?"

Paige: "You’re literally overthinking my answer right now."

Aidan: "She’s got a point."

Harper: "You are not taking her side."

Brody: "This is the best thing I’ve ever witnessed."

Paige: "You two are the homework assignment."

Maude: "There’s a cooking demo later today. Any of you planning to attend?"

Brody: "Absolutely. I’m going to impress the lovely ladies with my natural culinary talents."

Aidan: "You do realize I actually cook for a living, right?"

Brody: "Which makes it even better when I win."

Harper: "This is the same man who called a Long Island Iced Tea ‘basically just lemonade’ last night."

Paige: "Oh, I definitely have to see this."

Aidan: "It’s going to be a disaster."

Brody: "A charming disaster."

Maude: "Final question. One thing you’re hoping to get out of this week?"

Aidan: "Relaxation. But I have a feeling I won’t get it."

Harper: "A clear head before going back home."

Paige: "Adventures. And a project. Looks at Brody."

Brody: "Victory. In every possible way."

Aidan: "I’m exhausted just listening to you."

Harper: "I’m already questioning every decision that led me here."

Maude: "And on that note, I’ll let you all enjoy the day. Something tells me this group is going to be very entertaining to watch."

Paige: "Oh, you have no idea."
